Would you like to work in a role which is both meaningful and rewarding, where you really feel that you make a difference?

About The Team & Role

This is a great time to join Gloucestershire County Council, as Children’s Social Care is on an exciting journey, which focuses our approach into being more creative, strengths-based, and person-centred, to ensure that we work together to ‘Make a Difference’ to our local communities.

We are an agile working organisation with a combination of office-based working and working from home (essential equipment is provided).  We place a high premium on diversity and inclusion, as well as on health and wellbeing and we offer a flexible working scheme which is based on business need.  We offer Continued Professional Development and will support you to develop your skills and career prospects within Children’s Services.

We are looking to recruit a team administrator to support the Family First team in Tewkesbury. This is a full time, fixed term post for one year to cover maternity.  This team works within Gloucestershire County Council’s Children’s Services Early Help team, with a focus on using a flexible approach with families, according to their individual needs and it is not a ‘one size fits all’.  They aim to help families within a 6-12 week review cycle in order to make and sustain improvements.

Your role would be to support the team and the wider Early Help team with a variety of administrative tasks to ensure our children, families and young people receive the necessary care and support they need, whilst providing good customer service in person and on the telephone.

About You

We are looking for applicants who would like to join our Early Help Admin team, where the work is varied, and interesting, no two days are the same!  We would like applicants to have excellent IT and communication skills and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach with an ability to manage your workload to meet deadlines.  If you think that this is the role for you, we look forward to hearing from you.  Why are you perfect for this role and what will you bring to our team?

About Us

For all of your hard work, you will recieve the following:

  • Regular formal and informal support.
  • Safe, supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision.
  • Access to relevant training and career progression.
  • Annual leave of 25.5 days (pro rata) up to 30.5 days (pro rata) after 5 years employment.
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Staff discount scheme that offers access to great savings including discounts with major supermarket chains and high street retailers.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) network and the Young Employees Network.
  • Gloucestershire Salary Sacrifice Green Car Scheme (T&C’s apply).

Working in Children’s Social Care does require an applicant who can be proactive or responsive to changing demands and resilient to some of the tough emotional content of the role. However, it is also a role that can bring great reward and job satisfaction.
