Langley has a fantastic opportunity for an organised, values-led, and results-driven Head of People Services to effectively lead the People team (approx. 5 direct reports, team size of 12); ensuring excellent customer service and supporting the organisation to deliver its strategy and mission ensuring an outstanding people experience. Reporting to the Director of People, you will have a varied workload including supporting with the implementation of the People Strategy, leading on people related projects, updating policies and procedures, advising on change management and employee relations matters. You will also be part of the Senior Leadership Team.
This role is a hybrid position with opportunities for home working, with the need to travel to Coventry and other sites an average of 8 times a month. This role is a permanent full-time role working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £63,000 per annum.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the functions of the People team to provide a professional and expert service across Langley, facilitating the creation of a high-performance culture in line with the strategic objectives.
- To lead and motivate the People team in a Christian environment and taking an active role in the Christian faith-based aspects of the Trust’s daily and weekly life such as leading prayers, devotions and worship. To be a role model for the Trust’s values and beliefs.
- Ensure that the People Service team has effective and innovative policies, procedures and systems covering all aspects of work.
- Provide reports and information on People performance metrics, risks, compliance and progress on projects and the implementation of the People Strategy.
- Work with the Director of People to ensure Langley Trust is an employer of choice, that we recruit and retain talented people ensuring an excellent employment experience.
The successful candidate will be a practicing Christian who will create an environment where people feel valued, empowered and equipped to do their best work. This person will play a full part to further the organisational aims and provide strong Christian leadership to allow Langley to be a leader within the different sectors in which it operates. The postholder will always uphold the Trust’s Christian ethos and Christ like culture and therefore there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practicing and professing Christian under the Equality Act 2010.
