About Langley Trust

For over 65 years Langley Trust has been supporting people with convictions to transform their lives. As a Christian charity working across England, we believe everyone deserves another chance.

With a track record of success, our work prevents crime, promotes rehabilitation, and reduces the risks of re-offending. We know that someone’s future is not dictated by their past and with the right support and environment, anybody can change. Rooted in our firm Christian ethos and history, we believe that everyone is loved by God and so we welcome staff and clients of all faiths and none.

Our Services

We deliver person-centred, specialist services that enable people with convictions to live crime-free. Working with some of the hardest-to-engage individuals within the criminal justice system, we provide a range of services across the country both in prison and in the community.

In the last year we have supported around 2000 clients across 17 services and over 450 bed spaces. Our services are tailored to meet varying levels of need including 24/7 complex care placements, shared housing in the community, and specialist advice on topics such as debt, gambling and accommodation.

Our History

Langley has been offering the hope of transformation to people with convictions since the 1950s. We were founded in 1958 by a group of Christian men and women who were passionate about transforming the lives of men leaving prison with little to no meaningful support.

Over 65 years on, we are continuing the work our founders began. Our services have expanded beyond providing homes and our name has changed to Langley Trust, but our vision and identity remain: that everyone deserves another chance, and no-one is beyond reach.

Vision, Mission & Values

Our vision is of a society where no-one is unfairly disadvantaged because of their past. Our mission is to support people with convictions so that they reintegrate into society, live crime-free and thrive.

Our Five Values

  1. Christ-like – We seek to build a culture that reflects Jesus’ teaching & His love.
  2. Responsible – We are diligent in all we do and take care of all people within Langley.
  3. Genuine – We are honest, principled, and trustworthy.
  4. Respectful – We respect all people, act inclusively, and engage widely.
  5. Visionary – We are aspirational, enabling change, hope and flourishing throughout Langley.

Investors in People Gold Employer

We’re proud to be an Investors in People Gold Employer which means we invest in our people. This is a huge achievement as our assessment covers the last 3 years of unprecedented challenges through the pandemic; additionally, Investors in People have raised the bar and acknowledge that it is harder now to secure the Gold standard than in previous years as they want to keep it meaningful.

About Investors in People

Investors in People have been making work better for organisations across the world since 1991. Since then, we’ve worked in 66 countries, making work better for over 11 million people worldwide.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

ED&I is integral to Langley Trust. We’re committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
