Cyber Security Engineer

The ICT shared service provides ICT services for the three South Worcestershire councils – Malvern Hills District Council, Worcester City Council, and Wychavon District Council. We provide support and development to the 700 + users. The Cyber Security Team are on the frontline of defending the Councils from a cyber attack.
About you
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- monitoring and reporting of existing security systems
- implementation of new security systems
- ensuring compliance with security accreditations
- responding to incidents and carrying out security investigations
You will need to have a good working knowledge of:
- Cyber security risks and mitigations
- IT security standards and frameworks
- IT security tools and their implementation including vulnerability scanning and server patching.
- IT infrastructure including Microsoft Active Directory
- SIEM implementation and monitoring
