This is the job

Join us in leading the development and delivery of our Safety Camera programme, where technology meets purpose. You’ll be responsible for driving performance, enhancing our fleet’s capabilities, and ensuring our safety systems help get everyone home safely, every day. This includes managing operational delivery, advancing equipment and technology, and working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to shape a safer future.

You’ll also provide vital support to the Head of Function, Health and Safety Manager, and wider team, playing a key role in maintaining high standards across our safety operations. If you’re passionate about innovation, collaboration, and making a real impact, this is the role for you.

What will I be doing?

  • Collaborating with external partners to ensure camera hardware and software are installed, maintained, and meet all legal, regulatory, and AA standards.
  • Working closely with internal teams, including IT, Data Protection, Group Claims, L&D, and Roadside Operations, to optimise service delivery.
  • Managing a team of Safety Camera Analysts, overseeing workload, performance, competency assessments, and routine tasks.
  • Leading improvements to the Safety Camera programme, enhancing oversight of health and safety, and supporting accident investigations, claims, and data requests.
  • Developing policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the Safety Camera function runs effectively and compliantly.
  • Supporting the delivery of The AA’s Health & Safety Team Strategy to help create a safer working environment.

What do I need?

  • Confidence and experience in engaging with senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional projects, with commercial awareness of business risks and benefits.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Experience in managing equipment, systems, or technology change (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to set and work towards strategic objectives for yourself and your team.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to deliver agreed business outcomes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and adapt your style to suit different audiences.
  • Health and safety knowledge or experience (preferred), alongside strong stakeholder and team management capabilities.
