Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner (CC13019) – Bath, BA2 7AY
We are looking to recruit a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to work in the Student Support and Safeguarding department at the University of Bath.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Service operates throughout the year, working in partnership with other teams and colleagues within the department. You will be contributing to the departmental vision of supporting students to enable them to thrive as individuals, throughout their journey at the University of Bath.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners provide support to undergraduate and post-graduate students through undertaking duty work, risk assessments, and providing one-to-one support and interventions.
About you
You will have a relevant welfare and wellbeing-related academic qualification, including professional membership/registration in the areas of Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or other appropriate allied health profession.
You will also have:
- excellent needs assessment and risk assessment skills, alongside a strong background in working with and managing risk.
- experience of delivering pastoral care, welfare and mental health/wellbeing support to a good standard.
- effective communication and negotiating skills.

This is a permanent, full-time role, working 36.5 hours per week. The role is primarily based in our Claverton Down (Bath) campus, working Monday – Friday.
