You’ll be responsible for preparing statutory accounts for several subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Expect to play a key role in month-end close activities including intercompany, contribute to annual reporting, and support regulatory submissions.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders including the Group Finance Director, Group Treasurer, and Finance Controllers across the business, making your impact felt at the highest levels.
What will I be doing?
- Leading month-end and year-end reporting for the Group’s investment holding entities.
- Owning the full intercompany process, including improvements, training, and reconciliations.
- Preparing specific notes for the consolidated statutory accounts for AA Limited and the AA Intermediate Co Group.
- Managing the completion and audit of designated subsidiary statutory accounts, working closely with external auditors.
- Handling financial accounting queries from auditors and across the Group, and drafting technical accounting papers.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS and FRS 101, including assessing the impact of new accounting standards.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for technical accounting queries, with the ability to interpret and apply standards.
- Supporting FCA regulatory reporting requirements.
- Taking ownership of quarterly and monthly sponsor reporting.
- Delivering ad hoc analysis and project work, such as refinancing, in collaboration with the Group Treasurer.
What do I need?
- Proven experience in a financial control or accountancy environment, with a strong grasp of end-to-end financial processes.
- Solid technical accounting knowledge, with hands-on experience applying IFRS and FRS 101 standards.
- ACA or ACCA qualified, with a commitment to maintaining high professional standards.
- Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across finance and senior leadership.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work of a standard suitable for senior stakeholders and external auditors.
- Comfortable responding to complex accounting queries and drafting technical accounting papers.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the flexibility to support ad hoc projects and regulatory reporting.
