About the role
Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Public Health Intelligence (PHI) Manager to lead our public health intelligence function, driving evidence-based action to improve health, reduce inequalities, and address the wider determinants of wellbeing.
Reporting to the Head of Policy, Performance and Intelligence and working closely with the new Director of Public Health, this is an exciting opportunity to influence the health of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough residents.
The PHI Team Manager will work across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough system including the Integrated Care System, Local and Combined Authorities and wider partners, helping to build population health intelligence capacity and good working relationships across the local system to inform the improvement of population health and reduce inequalities.
The role will sit within Cambridgeshire County Councilās newly formed Policy, Performance & Intelligence Team. A team of 50 individuals who provide data, analysis insight and policy expertise to support the operational management and strategic planning of services.
We are a family-friendly employer and will be happy to negotiate on working arrangements to achieve a good work / life balance. The role is currently available on a permanent basis with the option of flexibility from full-time to a minimum 30 hours per week, with a provision for home working.

About you
Weāre looking for an individual with excellent knowledge, skills and experience of working with linked patient level data (health, social care and wider determinants datasets), and an understanding of the health and care system and public healthās role within it. Youāll bring the skills to undertake analytical work yourself and quality assure the work of others. A good understanding of information governance is also essential.
The role will have line management and team management responsibility for a small but skilled group of Analysts, some of whom are new to working in health intelligence, so weāre looking for someone with the enthusiasm for supporting diverse training and learning needs.
