Job Description

The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform as a key member of the ECS team by developing the role described in this summary. They will lead the development and implementation of robust and optimised test plans for this industry significant project.

Responsibilities

  • Write the Enterprise Control System (ECS) Test Strategy document and develop the documents and tools used to perform testing of the ECS
  • Perform and train others in any of the roles identified in the Configuration Management Strategy (CMS) or Test Strategy
  • Collaborate and inform other stakeholders. In particular the SPA engineering team, suppliers such as MCC manufacturers and Anglian Water personnel.
  • Provide progress updates and highlight risks to SPA Project Management on testing and configuration management activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience of Conceiving, Implementing and Managing CMS Systems such as described by ISO10007
  • Specific experience of developing Test Strategies and related artefacts such as Policies and Procedures and managing test activities
  • Knowledge and understanding of the software Lifecycle. Application of the V model as exemplified in GAMP 5
  • Experience of developing and using automated tools for configuration management and software testing
  • Experience of the design, development and testing of hybrid systems using diverse technologies; ideally including real-time systems
  • Some experience of Technical Project Management such as planning, risk assessment and task tracking
  • Some experience of industrial processes and plant, ideally including hydraulic systems design
  • Some knowledge of real-time control, industrial automation, optimisation and production planning applications

Qualifications

  • SharePoint technologies and data manipulation (preferably JSON and XML)
  • PLCs and Complex application development in high level languages (e.g. Python, JS, C#)
