About Us
The UK MND Research Institute (UK MND RI) is a national initiative with a vital and urgent mission: to accelerate the search for a cure for motor neuron disease (MND). Established in 2023, the Institute brings together leading scientists, clinicians, patients, charities, and industry partners to transform the landscape of translational MND research across the UK. The Institute is guided by a clear vision to identify effective therapies for MND through coordinated national efforts. Our mission is to drive forward progress by focusing on and expanding research, infrastructure, and resources across six partner universities and multiple funding bodies. The institute is unique in that it is the UK’s first virtual MND Institute, hosted by King’s College London.
About The Role
This post is a varied and engaging administrative role within the core operations team at the UK MND Research Institute; offering the opportunity to work closely with senior professionals, contribute to strategic decision-making processes, and support key governance activities including committee management and organising Institute internal and external events. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in executive support. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, with the goal of making a real difference to the field of Motor Neuron Disease research.

This is a part-time post (28 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31 December 2030.

About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level with other relevant experience
- Experience of working in a research/higher education environment
- Strong experience in complex administrative processes
- Ability to take accurate minutes and manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Excellent, organisation, written and verbal communication skills
- A good understanding of the MND research and the health research environment, including experience with people affected by MND
- Experience in preparing and writing communications for social media
- Accuracy and attention to detail with ability to maintain confidentiality

- Experience of budget management
- Experience of diary management
