JOB PURPOSE

Burberry is looking for a skilled Trim Developer to support the research, development and delivery of trims across ready-to-wear collections. In this role you will play a vital part in translating creative vision into high-quality, commercially viable products, ensuring trims are developed in line with design intent, timelines and budget. Working collaboratively across Design, Product Development and Engineering, you will help bring innovation and craftsmanship to every detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors, developing a clear understanding of capabilities, capacity and delivery timelines.
  • Lead seasonal trim research and present new concepts that align with design direction and brand standards.
  • Define and manage the trim development critical path, ensuring milestones are met and risks are proactively addressed.
  • Oversee the sourcing, ordering and delivery of trims, ensuring quality, cost and timing targets are achieved.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product Development and Engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and support product testing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within PLM systems, ensuring consistency and transparency throughout development.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Strong understanding of trim development, materials and construction, with the ability to translate design concepts into technical solutions.
  • Proven experience working with vendors, with the ability to communicate clearly and build effective partnerships.
  • Confident managing multiple projects, balancing creativity with commercial awareness and cost considerations.
  • Knowledge across areas such as fabrics, raw materials, garment construction and leather is highly valued.
  • Effective communicator, comfortable influencing cross-functional teams and navigating challenges collaboratively.
  • Experience with relevant systems and tools, including PLM and Microsoft Excel, with a detail-oriented approach to accuracy.
