Train Presentation Trainer & Assessor – East Croydon
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about developing people and maintaining high standards of presentation across our trains.
As a Train Presentation Trainer and Assessor, you’ll design, deliver, and assess all training and competence activities for the Train Presentation team — helping colleagues grow their skills and take pride in keeping our fleet looking its best.
What you’ll do

Create engaging, high-quality training courses — on time and fit for purpose

Deliver inspiring training sessions to Train Presentation colleagues across the business

Assess staff competence in line with company and regulatory standards

Review and maintain clear, accurate records for all training and assessment activities

Support staff to develop their safety, cleaning, and equipment knowledge

Contribute to reducing presentation-related train failures and safety incidents

Continuously improve training materials and delivery methods based on feedback and outcomes
What you’ll bring
Knowledge
-
Strong understanding of GTR rolling stock, safety, and presentation standards
-
Good awareness of modern rolling stock presentation methods and technologies
-
Excellent grasp of effective training delivery techniques
-
Sound knowledge of workplace assessment practices and competence frameworks
Skills
-
Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills

Clear and engaging presentation style

Good computer skills — including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-
Organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
-
Approachable and supportive, with the ability to positively influence others
-
Self-motivated and proactive in finding solutions
Experience
-
Practical experience delivering cleaning and safety activities on traction and rolling stock (or similar)

Proven track record of designing and delivering both technical and non-technical training
Or:
-
Willingness to complete the Professional Trainer qualification (certified by the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning – ITOL or equivalent) within 6 months of appointment

Willingness to complete the A1 Assessor Award (or equivalent) within 12 months of appointment
