Trade Waste Driver – Nottingham
We’re looking for an LGV Driver to join our Transport team based at our Nottingham site.
In this role, you’ll operate a variety of LGV vehicles – including both rear and front loaders – to carry out the collection and emptying of bins for our trade waste clients. You’ll work independently as a single-person crew, ensuring collections are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate LGV vehicles safely and efficiently to complete trade waste collections.
- Conduct daily pre-start vehicle inspections and report any defects, breakdowns, or incidents promptly.
- Ensure all Health & Safety obligations are met and company policies are followed.
- Report safety concerns, hazards, or incidents in a timely manner to allow investigation and prevent reoccurrence.
- Maintain compliance with Duty of Care regulations by inspecting waste and completing waste transfer documentation.
- Use handheld devices or tickets to record collection details and obtain customer signatures.
- Ensure skips placed on public roads have correct permits, lights, and cones as per company procedures.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and promote a positive company image at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent Enva professionally on every route.
- Actively participate in driver debriefs, highlighting any safety issues, vehicle defects, or route improvements.
- Support operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the Transport department.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Full HGV (LGV) licence.
- Valid CPC qualification.
- Good understanding of vehicle safety, checks, and compliance.
- Health and Safety awareness.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Experience operating waste collection or similar commercial vehicles.
- Basic vehicle maintenance experience.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced or customer-facing environment.
