Trade Waste Driver- days – Nottingham

Enva is a leading provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions, helping businesses and communities across the UK manage their waste responsibly. Our Transport team is now looking for an experienced and safety-conscious LGV Driver to support our operations. 

As an LGV Driver, you’ll operate a range of LGV vehicles, including rear and front loaders, to collect and empty bins for our trade waste clients. Working independently as a single-person crew, you’ll play an important role in delivering excellent customer service while supporting local sustainability.

This is a physically demanding role that involves early morning starts and working outdoors in all weather conditions. It’s well suited to someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and values safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate LGV vehicles safely and efficiently to complete waste collections.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects, accidents, or breakdowns.
  • Ensure all loads are secured and transported in line with Duty of Care regulations.
  • Complete all required paperwork or handheld device entries, including customer signatures.
  • Follow company procedures when placing skips on roads, including permits, lights, and cones.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of your vehicle cab.
  • Report safety concerns, hazard observations, and incidents promptly.
  • Support a positive health and safety culture on site and on the road.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, reporting any issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in driver debriefs, highlighting safety issues, vehicle defects, and route feedback.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • LGV / HGV licence and CPC (essential).
  • Good understanding of vehicle operations.
  • Strong focus on health, safety, and compliance.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment (essential).
  • Previous experience with waste collection vehicles (desirable).
  • Mechanical knowledge of LGV/HGVs (desirable).
  • Confident and professional.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and flexible.
  • In addition to driving, this role requires physically emptying trade and FEL bins.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
