Overview

Technical Programme Manager (KW12631) – Bath, BA2 7AY

About the role

The University of Bath’s digital vision extends beyond technology deployment towards empowering, enabling and connecting our people to drive positive organisational, societal and environmental change. It is through our connected community that we will seek to meet the challenges of today and embrace the expectations and opportunities of tomorrow.

The delivery of the University’s Digital Strategy relies on solid digital foundations, and the Cloud Enabling and Agresso Re-platforming (CLEAR) programme represents the next major phase of its delivery.

The vision for the programme is: “To ensure a fit for purpose, supported finance system while putting in place the technology foundations to enable other core University systems to migrate to the cloud.”  This vision describes a complex set of goals which require several different threads of delivery (technology, process improvement, cultural change and capability development) to work together in parallel and within a very tight timescale.

The postholder leads the delivery of our Agresso Re-platforming Technical Programme and Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) and as part of the University’s Digital Foundations Initiative, and through this is responsible for enabling the University to move to the next stage of its digital journey.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) 2 year fixed term basis.

This role involves providing clear leadership and direction for the delivery of the Programme, developing the programme deliverables, structure and team; resourcing and scheduling the interconnecting programme strands and projects; engaging and enthusing staff, building the readiness and momentum for change; and driving forward and masterminding the delivery of this critical programme of change.

The role will also lead the programme in going beyond the delivery of technological solutions and will develop a change model for cloud-enabled capability at all levels of the organisation.

Finally, the post-holder needs to role-model the change that they are leading, living the values and approach that they are proposing and generating the appetite, engagement and determination across the University to make the proposed changes a reality.
