The role

As a Student Engagement Officer you will play a crucial role in effectively monitoring student attendance and engagement, responding to student enquiries and monitoring a shared mailbox. In this data driven role you will gather and scrutinise student attendance data to identify individuals who may be falling below the prescribed levels and provide communication to students on attendance matters. You will work collaboratively with the academic, student services, registry, learning achievement and casework teams to ensure alignment of processes across the departments.

The candidate

Our ideal candidate will have experience in attendance monitoring processes within a further and/or higher education setting. The role is heavily data focused and will require advanced excel skills, and experience of using student data systems along with experience of providing professional customer support. 

The role requires effective organisation, prioritisation and time management skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to build strong working relationships with both staff and students. The role holder will be a proactive problem solver who is open to change and can contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, systems, and working practises.
