Ideagen Audit Analytics is a leading data provider for the accounting, corporate, and academic communities. Our team excels at data mining free-form text and other unstructured data formats to extract critical accounting and regulatory data points. Our web applications and data feeds allow our clients to identify patterns, visualize trends, and easily integrate our data into their own systems.
We are looking for an experienced software engineering manager to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong programming and database knowledge and will assist in managing the creation of new products and refactoring of existing processes. The candidate should have the ability to perform as tech lead on medium/large sized projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a staff of Software Engineers along the LAMP stack
- Triage the development/maintenance cycle that creates ETL processes to consume JSON, XML, CSV, HTML, and other structured and unstructured data formats
- Optimize, refactor, and re-architect long running processes and back-end jobs
- Oversee the investigation and mitigation of system and software performance anomalies
- Provide governance for troubleshooting complex system issues as necessary
- Mentor junior developers and assist with code reviews
- Participate in the on-call rotation with the rest of the team
- Develop and implement new products/capabilities that would enhance the company’s position in the marketplace
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a range of multi-disciplinary stakeholders
- May develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the technical work performed in the team
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a professional software development environment
- 5+ years’ experience with AWS services and infrastructure
- 5+ years of server-side programming experience (PHP preferred)
- 5+ years of experience with a RDBMS (MariaDB/MySQL preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Passion for solving problems and working with a large complex code base
- Previous experience in development, software maintenance, and infrastructure or technical operations support
- Solid diagnostic, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working on Laravel framework.
- Experience designing and scaling big data solutions
- Strong technical architecture and design skills
- Ability to manage multiple time-critical projects
