Salary: £74,704 + bolt on

Role responsibilities
As Shift Production Manager based in Canton Maintenance Depot, you will be responsible for leadership and delivery on your shift of the production management and all aspects of safety, competence and wellbeing of colleagues, visitors at Canton Maintenance Depot.
You will help plan and deliver all Fleet maintenance and repair activities in accordance with the maintenance specifications and the plan, and the delivery of planned and unplanned tyre turning activities.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Deliver outstanding safety leadership to maintain the safety and wellbeing of all, employees, visitors and contractors through good leadership, communication, processes and procedures.
• Drive a positive safety culture, constantly striving to improve team engagement and safety.
• Ensure that all maintenance and overhaul activities are undertaken in accordance with the workload plan
• Drive a culture to deliver safe, reliable and clean trains and champion continuous improvement activities at the depot to improve quality and efficiency of maintenance, repair and cleaning activities
• Lead the depot team to deliver annual objectives, functional strategy and business strategy
• Ensure good control of production costs and services within budget
The position covers a variety of shifts which includes days, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays so flexibility is essential.
Who we’re looking for
• Engineering or Technical Qualification
• Experience of working in a traction and rolling stock maintenance environment
• Experience of supervising or managing a team and demonstrate effective people management
• Good knowledge of modern DMU systems and engineering IT systems
• Good analytical and IT skills
• Exceptional written and non-written communication skills
• Knowledge and use of Health and Safety and Environmental legislative requirements
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
