About Us

Oxfordshire County Council’s Transport Development Management team has a prime role in creating high-quality, sustainable places, where people want to live and work, through our input into the development planning process. The team provides OCC’s statutory planning consultation responses on all transport matters, and is involved from the earliest preapplication discussions, through to negotiation of S106 agreements and discharge of conditions. Team members work closely with each other and colleagues from across the Council in a very supportive environment.

About the Role

If successful, you will assess the highway safety, transport impacts and mitigation needs of major and strategic sized development proposals, ensuring that they meet national and local policy and guidance, and provide high quality advice to the planning authorities, focussing on Cherwell, Oxford City, and West Oxfordshire. You will negotiate S106 agreements and provide written statements for planning appeals where necessary.

About you

You will have three years’ relevant experience in a related role, including significant experience in transport planning and experience of working in Local Government. You will be highly motivated and task focussed, with a strong commitment to sustainable transport.
