About the role
This presents an opportunity to secure a high-profile role in the Global Headquarters of a FTSE 100 plc. Reckitt is consistently recognised as one of the world’s most innovative companies being the producer and distributor of well-known brands such as Dettol, Durex, Finish and Cillit Bang. This is a specialist role within the CHQ Tax department.Â
As Group Tax Reporting & Analytics Senior Manager, you will take ownership of the Group’s external reporting and internal ETR forecasting process. You will provide support to the Director Tax Reporting & Analytics on a wide range of international tax reporting issues and input modelling expertise into business planning scenarios. The role will involve implementation of reporting solutions to respond to Pillar 2 and UK Corporate Reform and will also require absorbing deep knowledge of the Group’s tax reporting technology. The successful candidate, as part of a significant tax team, will experience a wide range of exposure to the CHQ and global functions of a large multinational organisation.Â
Working closely with Reckitt’s Tax Reporting and Compliance team and other functional pillars of the department, you will play an essential role in the implementation of initiatives supporting the Group’s reporting strategy, including ongoing technical development of the Group’s external reporting tool, Longview tax reporting.
Kay Challenges
A successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, team-focused and work closely with the other members of the UK Compliance and Reporting Team and build networks more widely within Tax and Finance.
The candidate will need to demonstrate strong accounting skills, the ability to grasp complex concepts and to explain the ETR impact of scenarios to Tax Leadership.
Your responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Director Tax Reporting & Analytics you will:
- Manage the process for Group consolidation, audit and external statutory reporting at Q2 and Q4;
- Manage the Group consolidation at Q1, Q3 and P10;
- Prepare the Group’s effective tax rate forecast in line with the internal planning cycle (three times per annum);
- Prepare the Group’s country by country report and tax strategy;
- Prepare transitional country by country safe harbour calculations;
- Assist with identification, calculation and maintenance of the Group’s tax balance sheet;
- Provide technical tax accounting support on M&A transactions, business restructurings and other tax technical matters;
- Help maintain and develop the Group’s Longview Tax Reporting environment in conjunction with IS;
- Provide tax accounting support to UK and local markets;
- Assist with enhancing the Group’s tax governance procedures and control environment;
- Help implement the Group’s Pillar 2 reporting solution;
- Provide assistance with other systems initiatives;
- Provide data analytics support to the wider tax team.
The experience we're looking for
- University qualified
- Accountancy qualification – ACA preferred
- 3 years+ tax experience
- Big 4 trained – desirable but not essential
- Good knowledge of IAS12 – accounting for income taxes
- Confident and resilient under pressure with a positive outlook
- Proactive self-starter – the role will be well supported but candidate must be able to demonstrate initiative and problem solve independently. Able to keep Director informed of progress as appropriate
- Highly organised with ability to prioritise – must be able to manage time effectively in a busy environment
- Professional approach and self-confident – able to win confidence and deal with a wide range of customers
- Flexible to travel, if required
