Salary: MPS1-MPS6Hours: FTE 0.6 Contract type: Temporary fixed termThis is not a Wiltshire Council vacancy therefore please contact Sambourne CE VC Primary School for further information. A bit about us:We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated teacher to join us on a fixed term contract (maternity cover) as the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator. This is a superb opportunity in delivering the strategic direction of our SEND provision, ensuring all pupils receive the education, care, and opportunities they need to thrive. We are looking for applicants who will bring vision and expertise to the role and have experience supporting pupils with a diverse range of needs. A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice is essential. All about the role:· Lead and manage the provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).· Ensure the school meets its statutory obligations regarding SEND provision.Work in partnership with staff, parents, outside agencies, and governors to secure the best outcomes for pupils with SEND. Key Responsibilities:· Identify and assess pupils’ needs, coordinate provision, and monitor progress.· Liaise with class teachers to ensure appropriate strategies and interventions are in place.· Oversee the implementation of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and ensure reviews are completed in a  timely manner.· Maintain accurate SEND records and ensure confidentiality at all times.· Support colleagues in identifying and meeting the needs of pupils with SEND.· Work with external agencies to arrange additional support where required.· Advise and contribute to the professional development of staff on matters relating to SEND.· Report to the Senior Leadership Team and governors on the effectiveness of SEND provision· Promote an inclusive culture throughout the school. Find out more and apply:For further details and how to apply please visit our school website www.sambourne.wilts.sch.ukWe encourage visits to our school, if you would like any more information please call the school office on 01985 212458 or email personnel@sambourne.wilts.sch.ukClosing date: Friday, 31st October 2025 at 12 noonInterview date: TBCCommencement date: 8th December 2025Sambourne CE VC Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
