Hours: 35 Hours per Week, Term Time plus TD Days and 3 weeks in the school holidays (Flexible working available for the right person)

The Role:
Are you an experienced and proactive professional looking to make a significant impact within a busy and successful primary school? Harnham C of E Junior School is seeking a School Business Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in the smooth operation and strategic development of our school.
Key Responsibilities:
As School Business Manager, you will be responsible for a broad range of duties including:
- Safer Recruitment: Leading recruitment processes to ensure the appointment of suitable staff, managing induction, probation, and maintaining the Single Central Register.
- Staff Management: Maintaining staff training records, managing absence including liaising with Occupational Health, and overseeing the wider administrative team.
- Premises, Health & Safety: Managing health and safety compliance, coordinating premises works, conducting risk assessments, and fulfilling fire warden responsibilities.
- Personnel Oversight: Supervising contractors including cleaners, kitchen staff, and wraparound care personnel.
- Financial and Strategic Management: Leading 5-year strategic budget planning, financial management and reporting, payroll and absence processing, and the formulation of key strategies and policies.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of financial management including budget planning, payroll, and reporting.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive Senior Leadership Team.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience in safer recruitment and staff induction processes.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety management and compliance.
- Experience in managing personnel and contractors within an educational setting.
- Ability to formulate and implement strategic policies.
