King’s Venues is the conference, events and hospitality division of King’s College London, offering more than 200 unique event spaces across multiple central London campuses. Combining historic and contemporary venues, we host a diverse range of events including conferences, meetings, lectures, receptions, banquets, weddings, filming and photography projects. With state-of-the-art facilities, professional event support and exceptional catering services, King’s Venues delivers outstanding experiences for clients in the heart of London.
 

About the role:

 
King’s Venues is the central events support service that helps brings King’s to life. Operating across multiple campuses, King’s Venues ensures events run smoothly and meet client requirements through efficient organisation, outstanding customer service and expert oversight.
 
Based within the commercial events team you will provide first-class end-to-end events booking and management service from initial enquiry to the day of the event, across the whole spectrum of business including day conferences, events, drinks receptions, dinners, summer and Christmas parties.
 
Your role will include but is not limited to:
  • Providing continuity of services across King’s Venues commercial and internal business.
  • Responding to event enquiries with detailed event proposals and leading client show rounds
  • Management of the onsite diary ensuring chases, contracts and payments are received in a timely fashion and monitoring discounting and Yield Management to ensure sales are maximised.
  • Provide detailed function sheets for all events and communicate with the operations team and kitchen to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Lead the weekly function sheet meeting with the kitchen and operational team
  • Help develop standards in terms of service delivery in line with the Fit For King’s programme
 
This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 6th August 2027 as maternity cover.

About you:

 
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
 
Essential criteria
  1. Minimum 3 years in events/hospitality industry
  2. Experience of managing events from end to end
  3. Excellent organisation, administration and planning skills
  4. Excellent written and spoken English
  5. Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  6. Willing to undertake additional responsibilities as may be directed by the line manager
  7. Excellent attention to detail
  8. Self-motivated & a self-starter
 
Desirable criteria
  1. GCSE or equivalent A-C grade
  2. Clear demonstrable experience of providing first class customer care and building effective business relationships
  3. Hospitality/Event management/Tourism qualification
  4. Experience using Adobe acrobat
