In a Nutshell…
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team within Vistry West London, at our Bracknell site. As our Project Manager, you will control and deliver one of our Major Construction Projects, Bracknell, Market Street. 168 apartments with 3 blocks ranging from 16, 14 and 8 stories. There is also a 3-story carpark with single access ramp to be constructed in conjunction with the 14 and 8 story building.Â

The core function is to oversee and support the control and delivery of project to meet Client Requirements (safety, quality, cost, time, etc.) such that all budget, risk, specification, project timescales, customer and business objectives are met in full.

You will drive the project team to achieve quality awards, CCS awards and safety recognition.Â

This is a 22-month fixed-term contract.

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Project
- Experience working on new build multi story projects
- Proven experience working on Town Centre projects that are logistically challenging
- Experience in the management of Health and Safety
- Good understanding of temp works
- Ability to analyse technical and commercial aspects of developments and apply solutions in terms of time, cost, quality, and best use of available resources
- A proven operational, team player who can set direction and delivery within challenging market conditions
- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Role considered a 22-month contract. For the correct individual and should business needs change, this may be extended for a permanent position

- Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
- Degree in construction management or civil engineering Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate
- Valid LOLER certificate
- Qualified to MCIOB Grade
- Ability to create and present using power point
- Asta power project Temp works coordinator
- Previously completed projects 15 stories + Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety obligations and building legislation
- A good understanding of the considerate contractor’s requirements to achieve high scores
More about the Project Manager role…
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of the public, staff and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the Vistry safety policy.
- Drive delivery of continuous safety improvements.
- Ensure all Health and Safety documentation is completed and maintained as required.
- Responsibility for the successful safe completion of the project: quality, time, procurement, client interface and to lead by example in all that they do.
- Ensure team members are allocated their Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Collaborate and drive internal and external design teams and sub-contractor design teams /consultants to meet project deadlines.
- Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills, giving regular feedback and providing challenging learning experiences.
- Ensure employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver excellence.
- Drive for NHBC / LABC awards.
- Drive high performance in relation to presentation of all aspects of the project.
- Promote the Vistry core values to achieve the best from the project team.
- Manage liaisons, interfaces and contacts with customers and stakeholder such that positive and ongoing customer relationships are maintained.
- Manage all correspondence related to the project.
- Ensure that detailed plans are developed commensurate with the overall project plan such that material, resources, and supply chain can be procured and scheduled.
- Chair site meetings; progress meetings, safety meetings and project reviews with all stakeholders as appropriate.
- Ensure that all additional work is identified, fully costed, and agreed with the client.
- Understand and appreciate the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these within decision making.
- Strategically produces and regularly reviews the project programme (including Procurement & Design) to ensure completion on time.
- Ensure Vistry processes on site are adhered to.
- Ensure all team members are fully inducted and carry out role specific requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement. Inclusive of subcontract supply chain.
- Ensure team members understand any sustainability practices relevant to their role and encourage continuous improvement.
- Ensure that subcontract supply chain is inducted onto 4P, Biosite and R drive as required.
