At Saga we are recruiting a Project Manager to join our dynamic Change team within our award-winning Insurance business.
This would suit an experienced project manager with experience in personal lines Insurance with a particular interest in Home and Motor, alongside FCA reporting.
As a Project Manager you will work closely with a range of Change professionals including Change Partners, Scrum Teams, the Value Management Office, and Business Leads. You’ll I facilitate the delivery of priority initiatives in line with the change request, approval and delivery process.
Reporting to the Change Director, you will track business cases through the project lifecycle and manage across functions daily to ensure project milestones and timelines are achieved, tracking issues and managing risk as I go.
We offer flexibility over where you work. You choose a place that you feel most comfortable and productive, either from home or in one of our hubs in London or Folkestone. Our change team visits London on an ad hoc basis, depending on project milestones.
Role Responsibility
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of small and large projects within the insurance business, with delivery to agreed time, budget and quality criteria
Other accountabilities will include:
- Project management from inception through to supporting benefit realisation. Projects will have a range or workstreams depending on the project.
- Creating and maintaining good working relationships with project sponsors and owners
- Communicating across all levels to enable clear understanding of the strategy behind project needs, design and delivery approach
- Preparation and presentation of supporting project documentation to senior management across the business
- Having the ability to support a team of business professionals deployed across a range of projects to achieve excellent standards of productivity and quality
- Being an effective negotiator, balancing alternatives and seeking win-win solutions
- Effectively managing project team members and resources, including third parties and suppliers, always maintaining an excellent level of service and ensuring project delivery to time, budget and quality
- Effective communication of projects’ status and issues to business management, IT and the project teams.
- Project governance including creation and maintenance of the project plan, highlight & progress reporting, risk and issue management
- Completion of Post Implementation Reviews and making recommendations for improvement
- Business readiness for any project you manage
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Project Manager will have experience managing projects within Personal Lines Insurance.
Other skills required would include:
- Proven experience of successful project delivery
- Excellent knowledge of personal lines motor and home insurance – previous experience as a product owner or SME role would be highly beneficial
- Previous experience of remediation projects and engagement with / reporting to regulatory bodies e.g. FCA would be highly beneficial
- Holds qualifications in relevant change methodologies
- Proven experience of managing cross-divisional stakeholder and change management
- Resilient mindset with an openness to communicate effectively at all levels
- Proven stakeholder management
- Positive attitude to work with a proactive approach to organisation and delivery
