JOB PURPOSE

The Product Technologist will work within the Product Engineering team for Women’s and Men’s Outerwear Collections. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with design and PD to translate design intent into product technical specifications
  • Supporting management of model measurements, ensuring they are aligned to fit standards
  • Identify opportunities for cost engineering improvement & raw material optimisation
  • Supporting risk assessment and management to deliver product to the required technical standards
  • Establishment and management of blocks with design and engineering team
  • Print approvals and print industrialization with Vendors and 3D team 
  • Liaising with Raw Material team and vendors to establish care label content
  • Comprehensive product testing on all elements identified as a potential risk to the end product
  • Finding solutions for packaging for production and shipping
  • Develop relationships and effective communication with vendors
  • Working closely with Burberry Cross functional teams including, Global sourcing, Raw Material Management and Product Development
  • Engage with Quality Assurance Team during production handover and Field Inspection 
  • Provide technical feedback on vendor performance
  • Supporting technical input into product withdraw/recalls and root causes analysis from customer feedback

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Relevant degree level and/or relevant experience in a similar role
  • Extensive years of experience within an apparel or related industry
  • Experience in working on Runway collections or as Technical Design in luxury is ideal 
  • Pattern cutting and grading experience is a plus
  • User of Flex PLM, EXCEL, CLO 3D
  • Proven knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes
  • Raw Materials and product testing knowledge is a plus
  • Analytical and problem solving
  • Effective and influential communicator
  • Efficient and motivate
