Product Development Technologist (12 month FTC)
Location: Northampton (4-5 days on site)

At our Northampton site, we’re looking for a Product Development Technologist to support the Marks & Spencer account. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of one of our most fast-paced and creative customer partnerships.
The Role
As a Product Development Technologist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the development process from kitchen samples to product launch. Working closely with the current technologist and development team, you’ll ensure products are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Working alongside the current technologist to support the product developer day-to-day on all aspects of development.
  • Creating kitchen samples to support internal tastings, customer presentations, and feasibility reviews.
  • Managing admin tasks such as product labelling, sample organisation, and accurate documentation.
  • Ensuring products and samples are prepared, packed, and dispatched on time for submission and testing.
  • Ordering and monitoring ingredients and benchmark products, maintaining stock levels, and managing deliveries.
  • Attending feasibility meetings to support project updates and next steps.
  • Supporting the accurate input and maintenance of recipes and costings on our systems.
This is a fast-paced role where organisation, attention to detail, and teamwork are key.
What We’re Looking For
  • Ideally 1 year’s experience in a food manufacturing, product development, or technical environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A passion for food, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Clear and confident communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams.
  • Must be local to Northampton or able to commute (4-5 days per week on site).
