About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join the systems team within the West Northamptonshire Council Pensions Service, responsible for the administration and management of the Cambridgeshire Pension Fund and Northamptonshire Pension Fund, worth in excess of a combined £8bn.

The role reports directly into Systems and Projects Manager and is responsible for maintenance of the Funds’ pensions administration system, management information reporting and cyclical/ad hoc projects and processes.

The LGPS landscape is evolving at a fast pace, and this role is critical is helping the Funds navigate a pathway through this change.

   

What will you be doing?

You will primarily act as a “super user” for the Fund’s pension administration system, undertaking configuration maintenance, producing management information reporting, and resolving issues internally or through our software supplier.

The role will be responsible for a number of cyclical processes that are run on the system, such as the production of annual benefit statements and applying pensions increase to pensions in payment.

The role will also support projects where there is a system element, for example, Pension Dashboards and the McCloud age discrimination remedy.

About you

We are looking for someone who thrives in a highly challenging environment with problem solving and analytical skills.  The ability to analyse large data sets and identify inconsistencies is a key skill for this role.  Advanced MS Office skills, including expert level skills in using MS Excel functionality, are essential. In order to be successful, you will be an excellent communicator and will be able to work with others and partner at a senior level.

You will have excellent planning and organisational skills as this role is responsible for a wide range of activities that have competing timelines and resource pressures.
