About Us

An exciting opportunity has come up within the Adopt Thames Valley Business Support team for a part time Adoption Administrator. Adopt Thames Valley is a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA) that includes seven local authorities: Bracknell, Oxfordshire, Reading, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Swindon, West Berkshire, and Wokingham. The agency provides services such as recruiting and assessing prospective adoptive parents, family finding for children with adoption plans, and support for step-parent or non-agency adoptions. It also offers a range of support services for adoptive families and special guardians, including advice, support groups, and access to the Adoption Support Fund. Good communication skills and attention to detail are key for an administrator. The job is based in our Oxford office which is at the Union Street building in Cowley. We may require occasional travel to our Swindon office and will require monthly travel for our once-a-month team meetings in person (around the Adopt Thames Valley offices). About the Role

The administrator is responsible for all the administration tasks that are required to support adopters through the recruitment process, completing checks and references and organisation for training events. This role requires someone that is able to juggle a fast pace of work, remain organised and have a keen eye for detail as well as a resilient person that can deal with sensitive situations that may arise. 

 

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic person, who has a good level of IT skills (which includes Microsoft Office) and excellent communication skills. This role will be part of a highly skilled and experienced business support team who provides support to Adopt Thames Valley. 
 This post will undertake the day-to-day business support tasks for our Adoption service. You must have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and be able to work at a fast pace. We are looking for someone who can communicate well and have a customer focused approach, so experience in working in a business support environment is essential.  
 The post is part time and permanent, to start as soon as possible. We can be flexible on how the 18.5 hours is split across the week. If you have any questions about the role or the team please get in contact with me.
