Esland Care are currently seeking a “Turning the Curve” Outreach Educator who is able to deliver tutoring to small groups and on a 1-1 basis for our established children’s Assessments home based in the outskirts of Shifnal. Shropshire (with support from our SEN school in Ditton Priors and our Online School). 

About our schools:

Woodside Farm is a two-bed service that offers immediate intervention and trauma-informed, therapeutic support for vulnerable young people ranging from 8 to 18 years old.  Our assessments placements ensure that young people are given security, support, and stabilisation in a nurturing and peaceful environment.    
 
Alongside the care team, our Outreach Educator will support up to two young people over a 12-week placement.  
 
Our assessment homes are all AQA (Assessment Qualifications and Alliance) registered centres, which means we can provide education with every placement.  Through a results-based accountability approach, you will strive towards “Turning the Curve” for our young people. 
 
Pupils access our AQA program as well as a range of qualifications including Entry Level, Functional Skills, or GCSEs dependent on their current attainment level and aspirations. Young people also have the opportunity to work towards ASDAN qualifications or Unit Awards.

The Successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, both with their pupils and the teams that support them.  Our educators are diligent in their duties, highly organised and passionate about inclusion and accessibility.
 
Essential Requirements
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or Level 3 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) or an accepted equivalent 
  • Proven experience in the specialist education sector, specifically for young people with SEND/SEMH 
  • Experience of working with young people that challenge
  • Previous experience in one to one and/or small group tutoring
  • Knowledge of results-based accountability in care and education environments
  • The ability to plan, evaluate and monitor learning and progress
  • A full, UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
 
Highly Desirable 
  • Qualified Teacher status, or close to gaining qualification 
  • Previous experience in outreach education
  • Experience and knowledge of vocational educational pathways and subjects
