Oncology Practice Development Nurse

Salary: £42,000 plus company car

 

Are you passionate about advancing oncology care and empowering nurses to excel in their field? Look no further! We’re seeking an Oncology Practice Development Nurse to design, implement and lead our cutting-edge Oncology Training Academy in a clinical homecare setting. This is a new exciting opportunity where you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of supporting career progression through a dedicated Training Academy to help transition general nurses into an accredited cancer nurse. You will do this through structuring and supporting bi-annual cohorts of delegates into the Training Academy to expedite and enhance their clinical skills and theory in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies.
 

Key duties will involve:

  • Collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders and experts to develop a comprehensive Training Academy for Healthcare professionals, creating a curricular that ensures the healthcare professional has specialised accredited skills in systemic Anti-cancer Therapies
  •  Designing, leading and implementing a successful Training Academy with cohorts every 4 months
  • Collaborate with universities, educational institutions and NHS partners to deliver specialised modules
  • Lead on education and Training delivery using a variety of training styles through group and one to one sessions, micro-teaching sessions, development workshops, clinical simulations and hands on training.
  • Overseeing and monitoring the recording of training and document storage of training and education records to ensure accurate data reporting of training status throughout Oncology Academy function
  • Support nurses in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating high-quality patient care
  • Working with internal stakeholders to ensure care and services are delivered in align with business growth

About You

You need to be well-organised to succeed in this role, as you will be responsible for managing your own workload and itinerary in order to meet deadlines. You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with others and liaise with stakeholders of all levels. Other must-haves include:

  • Formal Oncology qualification
  •  Experience in Training and education and presenting skills
  • Experience in creating Educational Resources
  • SACT passport
  • Project Management experience
  • Valid NMC PIN along with basic IT skills and a full UK driving license as travel to LPCH sites is required
