MECIA Manager –
Job Description
Costain is working closely with Severn Trent Water on their Capital Delivery Framework, as part of it’s capital programme for AMP8. As part of the Design and Build Framework lot, Costain brings together its design, construction, and consultancy expertise to undertake renewal and refurbishment projects and will assist Severn Trent in its target to make continuous improvements to its safety performance, whilst ensuring continuity of supply and consequently lowering costs for its customers.
The MEICA manager will be the key point of contact for the Mechanical and EICA subcontract package managers to enusre a smooth transistion from Design through delivery. The MEICA manager will be responsible for leading, planning and delivering the MEICA & Commissioning of the project lifecycle ensuring it meets the project programme and budget constraints. Reporting to the designated Project Manager whilst feeding into the Head of Engineering and Design to maintain the continuity through the delivery process.
This role will be hybrid, with 3 to 4 days in region (Warwickshire and Worcestershire area).

Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading, planning and delivering the MEICA & Commissioning of the project lifecycle ensuring it meets the project programme and budget constraints.
- Liaise with the MEICA designers, site construction team, subcontractors and Severn Trent Water in undertaking the above.
- Managing and optimising value in delivery through standardisation, consistency and best practice and promoting Health Safety, Environmental and construction best practice.
- Lead, manage and develop the MEICA & Commissioning for the projects.
- Fully understand the projects MEICA & Commissioning scope, ensure that all the interfaces, outages and co-ordination issues are understood, and risks are identified.
- Check the relevant sections of the subcontract Technical Specifications and Subcontract Appendices for compliance with Severn Trent Water specifications, British standards and WIMES.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- 5 years plus experience
- Knowledge of DfMA
Desirable
- NEC 4 Contracts
Qualifications
Essential
- HNC/ HND or Degree level in Engineering discipline
Desirable
- CSCS card
- APM or equivalent
