Our research spans the fundamental molecular, cellular, and physiological mechanisms underlying normal and pathological cardiovascular and metabolic function. This work is supported by state-of-the-art core facilities and a strong emphasis on translational science, driving advances in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment across our campuses at Guy’s, St Thomas’, and King’s College Hospitals.

SCMMS also hosts the British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence at King’s, and the MRC/BHF Centre of Research Excellence in Advance Cardiac Therapies (REACT) uniting internationally renowned scientists and clinicians from across the School and the wider university to focus on both basic and applied cardiovascular research.
 

About The Role

The School invites applications for a new faculty position, open to candidates at academic levels—from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer  grade. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
 
We are seeking creative individuals with a bold vision and a proven track record of research excellence. We particularly welcome applicants with expertise in Vascular Biology and Disease (mechanisms of angiogenesis and arteriogenesis, interaction of vascular cells with other cell types, atherosclerosis, gene and RNA-based treatments for restenosis, vascular ageing). 
 
Successful candidates will have:
  • A strong record of first or lead-author publications
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research
  • A proven track record of securing research funding
  • A commitment to contributing to teaching and academic leadership
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
