Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Finance Systems Engineer to act as the vital bridge between our Finance and IT teams. The role will focus on supporting, maintaining, and developing finance-related applications—particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance—to ensure our systems meet business needs, integrate seamlessly, and align with organisational standards.
This role is ideal for someone with both strong technical expertise and a solid understanding of finance processes, who enjoys problem-solving, improving systems, and working collaboratively across teams.
This post is working 36.25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.
What you’ll be doing
- Application support & maintenance – Provide technical and functional support for Dynamics 365 Finance, manage user access, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system documentation.
- System development & reporting – Build reports using Power BI and Power Query, develop workflows and forms, and work with finance users to design and implement system improvements.
- Collaboration & process improvement – Act as the main IT liaison for finance, translate requirements into technical solutions, and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and reporting.
- Training & knowledge sharing – Provide training and guidance to finance staff and support skill development within the IT team.
- Vendor & project management – Coordinate with external providers, support upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
About you
You’ll be comfortable working across both technical and financial areas—for example, building a Power App that connects with finance system APIs, while also understanding key finance processes such as accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations.
- Strong experience supporting finance-related applications (ideally Dynamics 365 Finance or similar ERP).
- Good understanding of finance processes (GL, AP, AR, budgeting).
- Skilled in Power BI, Power Query, and Excel for reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to configure workflows, security roles, and automations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines.
- Experience with system integration projects and APIs.
- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Microsoft LCS.
- Background in SQL, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Atlas uploads, Docentric reports, or other business applications.
