We are seeking a dynamic Health Prevention Programme Officer to join our Communities Group, helping shape the future of health and wellbeing in Cambridge.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in tackling health inequalities and driving forward innovative strategies that improve outcomes for our communities. You will lead on the development and delivery of the council’s strategic health and wellbeing initiatives, working across public, voluntary and community sectors to influence policy, strengthen partnerships and embed preventative approaches.
Working at both strategic and operational levels, you will represent the council on local partnerships and alliances, build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, and act as a key interface with the Integrated Care System. You’ll also lead projects, manage budgets of up to £100k, and oversee grant-funded initiatives that deliver tangible impact across the city.
We are looking for someone with experience in programme design and delivery, strong project management skills, and a proven ability to work collaboratively in complex systems. You’ll need to bring excellent communication skills, financial acumen, and a passion for community engagement and reducing inequalities.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.
Working Pattern: Full Time – 5 days a week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £41,771 – £47,181 per annum (City Pay Band 6)
Location: This is flexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly.
