Energy and Carbon Officer – Ebley Mill – Stroud

We are seeking a dedicated Energy & Carbon Officer to join our Investment Team, helping us drive forward our sustainability ambitions within our housing portfolio. This role is key to improving energy efficiency in our homes, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting tenants in managing energy use and costs.
You’ll work closely with housing officers, asset managers, and tenants to identify opportunities for energy improvements, support retrofit programmes, and ensure our housing stock contributes to our wider climate goals.
Key responsibilities will include:

Support with the management of energy efficiency projects, including renewable energy installations and retrofitting of council properties.
Work closely with external partners such as those contained within existing consortium projects, collating information required to report to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero on a regular basis.
Assist in the planning and scheduling of retrofit works, liaising with contractors, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to tenants. This will include site visits of our housing stock across the Stroud District.
Monitor and analyse energy and carbon emissions data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, reporting on key performance indicators to senior management.
Develop and implement energy and carbon reduction strategies in line with council policies and national targets.
Track project progress and tenant feedback, reporting to management and suggesting improvements where necessary.
Ensure all retrofit activities comply with relevant regulations and standards, including health and safety requirements.
Prepare detailed reports on energy performance and carbon reduction progress for senior management and external bodies.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential, and you’ll need to demonstrate a real passion to provide excellent customer service.
