Renishaw’s Spectroscopy Products Division is a market leader in Raman Spectroscopy, providing high end spectrometers and laser products to a worldwide market.

Spectroscopy Products Division has an opening for an electronics design engineer to work with our existing dynamic, multidisciplinary design team to develop new cutting-edge Raman spectroscopy products. We are looking for an individual who has demonstrable skills in electronics design and development, prototyping, and firmware coding. The successful applicant will be responsible for hands-on design, development and testing of electronics and control solutions that power our Raman spectrometer products. The person in this role will be organised, self-motivated, they will work closely with other disciplines including software, optical and mechanical engineering teams, and will need a strong team spirit and excellent communication skills.

The role allows for hybrid working, provides a competitive salary plus benefits and includes training as required.

Key requirements

  • A good working knowledge of electronics design

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in electronics engineering, or similar discipline

  • Digital and microcontroller design experience

  • Embedded firmware design experience

  • Experience developing design solutions through schematic, PCB layout, prototyping, and testing using EDA tools such as Altium and Zuken

  • Good verbal and written communication

  • Full driving license

Desirable requirements

  • An understanding of low noise analogue electronics principles

  • A knowledge of EMC standards and requirements

Location

The role will be based at the Renishaw headquarters, New Mills, Wotton-under-Edge.
