Early Years Teacher – Maternity Leave Cover

Loughborough University Nursery

 

Hours of work: Full time position

Rate of pay: Competitive salary, dependent on experience

This is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave.

We have a unique opportunity for an Early Years Teacher to join our team as a Strategic Lead for Curriculum & Pedagogy on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. Your Role

 

As our Early Years Teacher, you will:

  • Lead curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation aligned with EYFS and Ofsted frameworks.
  • Champion pedagogical excellence and mentor colleagues to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Advocate for children’s rights, ensuring their voices shape our practice.
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovation, reflection, and collaboration.
  • Lead safeguarding practice and uphold the highest standards of care and compliance.
  • Promote rich cultural capital and lead research-informed projects in partnership with families and university networks.

 

About You

 

We are looking for a confident and proven leader in early years education, with a strong track record in curriculum development and pedagogical improvement. You must be qualified Early Years Teacher Status or equivalent, with significant experience in early years education and the EYFS, and designated safeguarding lead experience.

 

Together with your experience in assessment and data analysis, you will have strong communication and decision-making skills and be able to mentor, coach and empower others, leading with emotional intelligence and professionalism.

 

You will be supported in your role and work alongside a passionate team in a well-resourced nursery that values your expertise and ideas.

  

Successful appointment is subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS check.
