Role responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity for a Driver to be seconded into a Driver Instructor role in Holyhead for 12 months.
This role will allow you to get involved in a range of activities:
• You will be responsible for delivering driver training/briefing
• Coaching and supporting drivers who are returning to work
• Mentoring drivers undertaking route learning
• Completing driver assessments where needed
• Providing support and feedback to the Driver Management Team when required
The successful candidate
You must have, or be approaching, 3 years train driving experience to apply for this role. For clarity, this experience period begins from the point you are issued your ETDL (European Train Drivers Licence), which is typically at the end of the classroom phase of your training. If you are currently in the Post Qualifying period, you cannot apply for the Driver Instructor role.
You must have knowledge of routes and traction for Holyhead depot. You should excel in your current role, have excellent written & verbal communication skills and above all, high levels of motivation for the driver role. You will need to hold or be prepared to work towards the Coaching & Assessor and Presentation Skills awards, as well as having good IT skills.
