The Role: Digital Merchandising Lead

Location: Hybrid 

Contract Type: 12 month FTC

What will you be getting up to?

The Role

Motorpoint operates in a content-rich and highly competitive market and as the Digital Merchandising Lead you will support our wider online presence, driving engagement and supporting digital marketing campaigns through the merchandising of the Motorpoint website. You will also work with the SEO Manager to support our market-leading SEO performance.

Requirements

  • Site merchandising – own and implement the merchandising strategy for motorpoint.co.uk, prioritising high impact initiatives and taking ownership of homepage and product page content
  • Site search optimisation – optimising on-site search navigation to ensure customers can easily find relevant products and information on the website
  • Website personalisation – responsible for personalisation across the website, working with CRM team to implement exciting journeys for customer segments as they browse key website pages
  • Website testing – working with the design team to plan and implement regular A/B tests across the website, feeding into the testing roadmap to improve performance
  • Website reviews – regular review of the website reviewing product photography and descriptions to ensure customers are receiving the best experience on the site across all devices
  • Stock promotion – managing stock promotion across the Motorpoint website, working with the wider marketing team to promote target areas of stock, campaigns and key content
  • Campaign promotion – update key messaging across the website to support brand and cross-channel marketing campaigns
  • New product launch – support online launch of new products, working with design, product and content teams to get products ready for launch
  • Reporting – produce reports highlighting key performance results and actions from merchandising, optimisation and testing initiatives. · Commercial page optimisation – working with the SEO and content teams to build and optimise key commercial pages to improve search visibility of new stock
  • Delivery of SEO content projects – support the development of new website sections and visibility of other key areas of the website through competitor analysis, KW research and new content recommendations
  • Ad hoc website updates – responsible for updating key messaging across the website, including elements like seasonal opening hours, T&Cs etc.
  • Cross-collaboration – working with the design team to get key creative to support personalisation journeys, stock promotion, campaigns and new product launches

What do we need from you?

  • Confident interpreting data using website analytics and merchandising tools to monitor performance and inform decisions (e.g. Bloomreach, GA4, Google Search Console, Content Square or similar)
  • Familiarity with content management systems and managing online content
  • 2 years’ experience within the digital marketing industry, with a focus on SEO and how it fits into this
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse and report on key information
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple workflows, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to deliver quality work within tight deadlines whilst remaining composed
  • Interest in e-commerce, with a commitment to delivering the best experience for the customer
