The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is looking for a dynamic and creative Digital Communications Officer for a year’s maternity cover to help us demonstrate to Londoners how, through our oversight of the Metropolitan Police and the services we commission, we are helping to make London a safer city for all.

 

This is a post in a small team, and as such you will be a key contributor to the output from all of MOPAC’s channels, with significant scope for creativity and innovation. We are seeking candidates who are skilled and experienced in digital content creation, including videography and video editing, graphic creation, copywriting, web editing and social media.

 

The post holder will work with senior leaders and colleagues from across MOPAC, the Greater London Authority, the Met and the services we fund to help tell the stories of their work and the difference they are making for Londoners in a compelling and accessible way.  

 

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) is the organisation through which the Mayor of London exercises his role as the Police and Crime Commissioner for London and is led by the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime. MOPAC undertakes a broad range of statutory duties and works closely with the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor and Metropolitan Police Service to deliver the priorities that will create safer London communities.

Interviews will take place:  

 

  • In-person on Thursday 18 September 2025 between 9am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm
  • In person on Tuesday 23 September 2025 between 9am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm
  • In person on Wednesday 24 September 2025 between 9am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm

Political Restriction 

Political Restriction: under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011), all MOPAC staff members will be politically restricted without the right to apply for an exemption. 

 

Security Vetting Clearance 

The successful candidates will be expected to undergo the necessary security checks. Applicants must possess the legal right to work in the UK and have resided in the UK continuously for at least the last three years.

Where are we based? 

We operate a hybrid working model with office hubs at Union Street (near London Bridge) and Newlands Park (postcode SE26). On average, staff will work 1-2 days a week from an Office Hub, which may differ depending on the role requirements.
