Job Title: Cutover and Transition Manager

The Cutover and Transition Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of cutover and transition activities for a major digital transformation programme. This role ensures readiness across business and technical teams, manages governance and stakeholder alignment, and oversees the successful transition from legacy systems to new services.

Key Responsibilities

Cutover Preparation

  • Drive the development and sign-off of the Cutover Strategy and Cutover Design.
  • Ensure ECC (Enterprise Command Centre) setup is completed and operational.
  • Own the creation and finalisation of the Master Runbook, ensuring all activities are sequenced and resourced.

Governance and Readiness

  • Define and gain agreement on readiness criteria with the Programme Board and key stakeholders.
  • Manage and enforce the change freeze period to protect cutover integrity.
  • Lead Quality Gate assessments and ensure all criteria are met.
  • Coordinate ExCo updates and ensure Gold Team mobilisation and alignment.

Event Execution

  • Plan and oversee execution of Dry Run and subsequent rehearsals.
  • Manage Smoke Testing and Live Proving activities to validate readiness.
  • Lead the Service Go-Live event, ensuring all teams are aligned and issues are escalated/resolved promptly.
  • Oversee Early Life Support (ELS) and ensure smooth handover to BAU service teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in managing cutover and transition activities in large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL service transition and enterprise change management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including executive-level reporting.
  • Experience with ECC setup and runbook management.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams under pressure and tight deadlines.
