Overview

Hello, we’re Starling. We built a new kind of bank because we knew technology had the power to help people save, spend and manage their money in a new and transformative way. We’re a fully licensed UK bank with the culture and spirit of a fast-moving, disruptive tech company. We’re a bank, but better: fairer, easier to use and designed to demystify money for everyone. We employ more than 3,000 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering compelling communications across a multitude of owned channels, including; email, mobile notifications and in-app messaging. Working autonomously you’ll be in charge of briefing, designing, building, executing and analysing campaigns. You’ll not only be working alongside creators of great content designed to inform, educate and entertain our customers, but also those designing and developing the product that’s part of our customers’ everyday lives. Your task is to put this content in front of the right customers, in a meaningful and impactful way.

We are a regulated bank and with that brings great responsibility. It’s important that you have a strong eye for detail and understanding of process when designing and executing communications. That being said, we don’t want to feel like ‘any other bank’, we want everything we put in front of customers to feel relevant, grown up, unique and genuinely useful.

You’ll also have the chance to shape how we deliver customer engagement communications. We are currently embarking on a journey with colleagues across the business to improve our capabilities within this area. Customer engagement has never been more important to Starling, and you’ll be joining at a really exciting time.

You’ll be reporting into the Senior Customer Engagement Manager in a small and agile customer engagement team within the broader marketing function. There’s a host of opportunities in this role, as you’ll find yourself involved in design conversations, brand campaign meetings, data briefing calls and technical discussions with our engineering team.

Within this role there really aren’t any boundaries, as you’ll get to work on communication strategies that impact all customers right across our product and feature catalogue. You’ll get to know the bank inside out, and understand what our customers really need to make their financial lives that little bit easier. You’ll work with colleagues on broader projects, but you should always be on the lookout for new opportunities, with a curious mind on how we could do things better than last time.

We’re not looking for the finished article but for someone with a different approach, who can bring new perspectives to the team. We’re looking for someone with ideas and talent, someone who is looking to help change an industry from within and to learn, grow and surprise themselves at the same time.

We are looking for someone who is obsessed with doing things better. We don’t want to settle for immediate engagement gratification as a goal, but driving genuine action and behavioural change.
