The role is based within the IoPPN Faculty office comprising of ~30 professional services colleagues working across core functions of operations; communications and engagement; strategy; culture, equality, diversity & inclusion; research management and health & safety to manage the day-to-day business of the IoPPN and deliver on the strategic objectives of the Executive Dean, Director of Operations and Senior Leadership Team.

About the role:

The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is embarking on an exciting period of ‘Academic Transformation’ to develop a strategy that delivers on scientific and societal challenges of:
 
• Understanding brain development to improve children and young people’s health
• Developing better mental health treatments
• Addressing major neurological disorders
• Improving population mental health
 
The Communications Manager (Change Management) will play an integral role in the successful delivery of this transformation programme, directly supporting the communications and change management workstream and working across the programme governance to ensure that the community are engaged and inspired by the vision and strategy. The delivery of the programme will require working across strategy communication internally, externally and supporting effective change management initiatives for the smooth transition of structural changes, revised leadership and cultural change that will impact multiple internal and external stakeholder groups. 
 
The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of the programme communication plan, mapping and monitoring stakeholder impact and engagement, managing and maintaining communication and engagement content across multiple platforms and media, articulating the drivers for change, benefits realisation and escalating risks to the Programme Board.
 
The role will sit within the IoPPN Faculty Office, reporting into the Strategic Projects Officer as Programme Manager and a dotted line to the Head of Communications. The successful candidate will be an active member of the IoPPN Faculty Office, working closely with Faculty Office colleagues and the wider IoPPN Press & Communications team to ensure successful programme delivery.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to utilise and strengthen your skills in communication and change management in support of a Programme that aims to deliver impact on some of the most complex scientific and societal challenges facing the fields of mental health and neuroscience.
 
The post is available at any FTE from 21-35 hours a week and we ask applicants to specify their preference. You will be offered a fixed term contract until 31/07/2027 and we welcome secondment applications.
