We are looking for an FinOps Associate to join our Cloud Platform Team. The role reports to the Cloud Senior Manager, and you will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations of the Cloud platform estate within Asda and to help ensure that Cloud costs are within budget, optimised and monitored.

About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Cloud FinOps associate or a Cloud engineer looking for a step into Financial Management. The candidate should understand the importance of managing spend to drive profitability within a large retail enterprise and be willing to drive change and support the business teams in their journey to maximum optimisation of their Cloud resources.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in managing and supporting Azure cloud infrastructure in a large Enterprise
  • FinOps Practitioner Certification preferred.

Preferred Experience and Competencies

  • Monitoring and tracking Cloud Costs using tooling such as Azure Portal and Power BI.
  • Creating monthly reporting on spend and savings, tailored to specific audiences including portfolio leads and senior management.
  • Forecasting Cloud Costs, identifying variance and providing analysis of the change.
  • Identify opportunities for Cloud Cost optimisation including Rightsizing, Reserved Instances and orphaned resources,
  • Work with the Cloud Platform team, Cloud Architect team and wider Technology colleagues to collaborate for Cost effective design and solution building.
  • Knowledge of current industry best practices for Finops and identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
