We are looking for a dedicated CCTV operator to become a valuable member for our client based in London, EC2R 7HJ.
The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting the client’s staff, assets, and infrastructure. The candidate will possess a wide range of skills and experience necessary to deliver an effective, efficient, and professional security service that meets the needs of the client and ensures the safety of people, property, and assets. As a key point of contact for staff, visitors, and tenants, the candidate will be expected to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing, while always conducting in a professional manner.
Position: CCTV Controller
Pay rate: £15.38 per hour
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days Only)

Main Duties:
• Operate CCTV equipment and provide pro-active and reactive monitoring in detection of crime, antisocial behavior, reduction of crime and any disorders.
• Maintain close liaison with other control room partners and Police in relation with any incidents effective business and surrounding areas.
• Use databases and computer systems to gather, monitor, record and commutate information to appropriate teams and external partners.
• Supply extracts from CCTV recordings for awareness to services teams and other approved teams within the business on any operational incidents/concerns.
• To ensure the efficient working of control room, all work is undertaken in compliance with operating procedures, current legislation and code of practices.
• Incident response in addressing and escalating to the site manager.
• Access control alarm monitoring, clearing alarms by investigating using CCTV or dispatching onsite security team and logging outcome.
• Monitor and respond of Fire & Security alarm system panel, inclusive of intruder systems.
• Monitor Known Consignment areas in client business by viewing CCTV, performing access control, ensuring site documentation is up to date and any other control measures are adhere to according to security standard.
• Conduct daily CCTV audit and complete client audit systems and log books.
• Work closely with management on control room documentation and standing operating procedures to comply with quarterly and yearly internal and external audits.
• Identify and develop processes for improvement control room security officer duties including reviewing, revising and feedback on revised SOP’s and Risk Assessments.
• To ensure compliance with legal, company and contractual obligations always, such as the Data Protection Act, Health and Safety at Work Act and procedures outlined in the Ward Company handbook.
• To raise the profile of Security Services ensuring that DSM is well informed of operational issues within the control room and the business.
• Conduct CCTV patrols to detect and deter unauthorized activity throughout client buildings/properties and report any suspicious persons immediately to the site manager.
• Be fully conversant with the layout of client buildings/properties and be aware of threats and challenges faced by each site.
• Be fully conversant with emergency evacuation/controlled movement, to a place of safety procedures at the location.
• Protect the premises, property and personnel from theft, damage and violence; investigating unusual conditions and ensure building is securely locked.
• Provide a customer focused service, maintaining a professional and courteous manner at all times towards the public, the client, staff and colleagues.
• Ensure fire routes and exits used by staff and visitors are clear from any obstructions and safe to use.
• To contribute toward the maintenance of a clean, welcoming environment for staff – for example, by picking up litter, reporting or dealing with spillages, etc.
• To prevent loss, damage and theft of assets by carrying out security as set out in assignment instructions.
• To ensure that your SIA CCTV Licence is on display at all times while at work.
• Any additional reasonable duties requested by operational management.
Must have:
- Valid Frontline and CCTV SIA licence (essential)
- Proven work experience as a skilled security officer or CCTV Operator (min 1 year)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills in all aspects of the role
- Strong ability to motivate self and team
- High level of self-presentation
- IT literate- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proactive towards job responsibilities and adhere to site security protocol
- A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges
- 5-year checkable work history
