Overview

We are looking for experienced Commercial Butchers to run our Butchery Departments like their own business. This is an exciting role where you will champion the needs of the customer, understand your local market and provide them with great service. You will work alongside the Store Manager to develop a business plan that will support the growth in sales and profitability of your department

Of course you will need to make sure that you are all over the legal requirements that come with running a fresh food department and you will make sure that these standards are delivered consistently and that your team know the expectations required too. There will be no “beefing” around when it comes to legalities.

Reporting to: Area Manager

You will have:

Previously ran your own Butcher shop or coached and developed a team of Butchers

Commercial awareness and the understanding of yields and costs

Proven ability to manage profit and loss margins.

Excellent customer service and cutting skills

Experience of working with carcases and knowledge of businesses within your local area is an advantage but not essential

Shift Hours: 42 hrs per week (5 out of 7 days including weekends)
