Salary: Offering from £39,500 to £47,000 per annum based on experience

What you’ll be doing as an Assistant Project Manager

  • Providing Project Managers with support to deliver project outcomes for our current 5-year AMP and on a future portfolio of projects.
  • Drive project delivery to time, cost, and outcome through the stage gate process.
  • Delivering successful technical solutions that provide optimal value for money on a capital and whole-life cost basis.
  • Performance managing the service providers to ensure out-performance of service levels and value for money.
  • Establish and continuously promote a proactive health, safety & environment culture across projects.
  • Leading a customer-focused culture that is unrelenting in its pursuit of excellence in service delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Proactively ensuring every customer touch point is a positive experience to remember.
  • Actively protecting, managing, and enhancing Thames Water’s reputation with external customers and stakeholders.

This hybrid role is based at Clearwater Court, Reading. You will need to attend both the office and various operational sites within the Thames Valley as required for the position and business need, which may be more than three days a week.
The work schedule is 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

A driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required for this position.

What you should bring to the role

To thrive in this role the essential criteria you’ll need is:

  • Site-based Project Management experience from significant infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborative approach, good communication skills with contractors and stakeholders.
  • A self-starter with a willingness to come forward and take responsibility.
  • Organised, resilient and tenacious, with proven experience of managing the performance of third-party service providers and contractors.
  • Project Management skills and contractual awareness.
  • Continuous promotion of proactive health, safety & environment culture.
  • Experience in proactive management of project risk.
  • A strong customer service ethic, measurement of customer satisfaction and a proven track record of delivering improvement for customers.

Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:

  • Ideally experience within the water and waste sector.
