About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Lecturer in Engineering Education to join our department on the Academic Education Pathway (AEP). This fixed-term position focusses on delivering high-quality, research-informed teaching and contributing to the advancement of engineering education within our undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate taught (PgT) programmes.
Teaching and Curriculum Development:
- Design, deliver and assess engaging content via lectures, workshops and project-based learning activities, ensuring alignment with industry practices, research and innovative education with responsibilities in the following modules:
- Design (Years 1): support module leads in delivering design thinking, CAD, Arduino programming and prototyping makerspace workshops, and supporting coursework and exam marking
- Mechanics (Year 1) & Automotive (Year 3): lead the delivery and assessment of the labs, including supporting a team of teaching assistant, and supporting coursework and exam marking
Educational Development:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of student experience through evidence-based teaching practice and innovation
- Support and mentor colleagues including teaching assistants in developing effective and inclusive teaching practices
- Take part in activities to capture student voice and to work with student representatives on improvement activities
Outreach and Community Engagement:
- Represent the department at public events and contribute to widening participation efforts
Collaborative and Administrative Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with academic, technical and professional service staff to ensure effective module delivery
- Participate in departmental committees and working groups
- Support administrative processes related to teaching and assessment

This is a 50% part-time post (20 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract until August 31, 2026.
