About Us

When were we designated?  Bannau Brycheiniog National Park was designated in 1957

What are we here to do?  The remit of our work is set out in our Statutory Purposes and Statutory Duty.  In summary these are

  • to protect the natural beauty of the Park;
  • to help visitors enjoy and understand it; and
  • to foster the wellbeing of local people.

Who does the work?  The Park is administered by a special National Park Authority made up of 18 members, over 100 staff and our volunteers.

Data Protection Act 2018

Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority is registered under the Data Protection Act 2018 to hold some information about employees and applicants on computer systems.  This data is primarily for salaries, pension administration and statutory reporting purposes.  Application forms from unsuccessful candidates will be kept for 6 months and then destroyed.  More information is provided on how this information is managed can be found in the Job Pack.
